LeBron James is one of the most successful players in NBA history, but while he’s a member of the Los Angeles Lakers these days, he did most of his damage with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat. People are reminding him of that Saturday morning.
James posted an edit to Instagram that shows the all-time Lakers “starting five” – which consists of himself, Shaq, Kobe, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
There’s no doubt that LeBron is one of the five-best players to ever wear a Lakers uniform. But he’s not one of the five best Lakers ever.
Some aren’t a fan of the post for that reason.
So is Barkley on the Rockets all-time 5? Jordan on the Wizards? Moses on the Hawks? pic.twitter.com/HJsr97q8ND

Judging solely on his Lakers performance there is absolutely no way LeBron is in the starting five Lakers. Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, James Worthy, Wilt Chamberlain… and those are just folks who got their numbers retired. https://t.co/2SGVsFsN7w

James has won three NBA titles – two with the Heat, one with the Cavaliers. His first season in Los Angeles ended with the Lakers missing the playoffs.
Of course, this year could be different. The Lakers traded for superstar Anthony Davis and they should be a contender. James likely needs to win a championship with the Lakers to be considered an all-time franchise great.
NBA fans – is LeBron’s post fair or foul?
