A legend in the world of bodybuilding has passed away. According to a report from TMZ, Jeff Everson was found dead in his bed on Monday at his Los Angeles home.
The report states Everson’s roommate when he returned from a work trip. Everson was 68 years old.
Everson, who founded the magazine Planet Muscle, was a competitive bodybuilder for years. He eventually married six-time Ms. Olympia Cory Everson after the two met while she was a student at Wisconsin when Everson was the strength coach.
Here’s more from the report:
We’re told it appears Everson may have passed away a few days before his body was discovered. There are no signs of foul play. Officials do not believe Jeff took his own life. We’re told investigators believe he died of natural causes.
We spoke with family members who tell us Jeff had recently complained of pain in his legs and feet, but Jeff suspected it was from powerlifting and nothing more serious than that.
Jeff had been open about his steroid use in the past — but we’re told he had not used in a very long time.
Everson said in an interview that he and world-famous wrestler Hulk Hogan worked out together earlier in his career.
Our thoughts are with the Everson family.
