Monday night, an unaired Golf Channel interview with Koepka went viral on social media. In the video, Koepka is discussing his round at the PGA Championship before getting annoyed by DeChambeau's presence.
“I didn’t putt well but I don’t think any of the guys were going to putt well with this wind,” Koepka said right before DeChambeau walked behind him. “It’s very tough. I don’t know what the other guys have said, I just found it difficult to read sometimes.”
Then, DeChambeau walks by, making noise with his metal spikes.
“Sometimes, um — I lost my train of thought,” Koepka admits. “Hearing that bulls—.”
The rivalry between Koepka and DeChambeau has clearly been growing in recent months.
DeChambeau reacted on social media to the viral clip.
What the golf world needs is simple: A Brooks Koepka-Bryson DeChambeau pairing at the U.S. Open next month. If we don't get it in the first and second rounds, hopefully they're close enough on the leaderboard to get paired up in the third or final round.
The 2021 U.S. Open is set to take place at Torrey Pines from June 17-20.
