Reigning NFL defensive rookie of the year Micah Parsons is a master when it comes to his work on the football field. But when it comes to hockey knowledge, the Cowboys star is severely lacking.
Earlier this week, Parsons was the special guest for the minor league hockey Hershey Bears in Hershey, Pennsylvania -- just east of his hometown, Harrisburg. As the hometown hero, Parsons was given the honor of the ceremonial puck drop at center ice.
But, it soon became abundantly clear that no one had briefed him on how the process works.
Instead of waiting for the opposing players to lineup, Parsons simply walked out onto the ice and haphazardly tossed the puck to the ground. After realizing he'd messed up, he laughed it off and opted for a redo.
"Thanks for coming last night, @MicahhParsons11! We are so sorry for not explaining how a puck drop works. That one is on us. Our bad," the Hershey Bears' official Twitter account wrote.
