There are few things better in the game of football than a big-man touchdown. And during Saturday afternoon’s matchup between UConn and Holy Cross, we got just that.
The Holy Cross defensive line brought some quick pressure up the middle, forcing a rushed throw from Husky quarterback Jack Zergiotis. The pass was batted at the line and ended up in the hands of senior DL Jason Modak.
He wasn’t done after the interception, though.
The 6-foot-1, 279 lbs lineman put together an incredible run-after-catch — taking it all the way to the house.

The big man’s second-quarter pick six evened the score at 14 apiece.
This unfortunate play for UConn is pretty indicative of their football program in recent years. After going 2-10 in 2019, the Huskies opted out of the 2020 COVID-19 season.
Kicking off their 2021 season last weekend, the struggling program was routed 45-0 by Fresno State.
After another touchdown for Crusaders QB Matthew Sluka, Holy Cross currently lead the Huskies 21-14 midway through the second quarter.
