From the moment the Bears traded up to select Justin Fields with the No. 11 overall pick, a new level of excitement was brought to the city of Chicago. And now that the first-round QB is showing his stuff in offseason workouts, that excitement only grows.
Fields’ teammates and coaches are already starting to give him glowing reviews.
“The very first one that he threw up to me, I was smiling mid-route,” the second-year WR said, per Bleacher Report Gridiron.
Head coach Matt Nagy also chimed in with some words of praise.
“He has that mentality to rip your heart out,” Nagy said.

As of right now, Fields is expected to start the season as a backup behind recently-signed veteran QB Andy Dalton. But with these shining reviews, the tides could be shifting in the former Buckeyes’ favor.
If he’s throwing balls to Mooney, that means Fields is getting at least some reps with the Bears’ starting unit in offseason training.
Coming off a year chock full of quarterback uncertainty (Mitchell Trubisky vs. Nick Foles), Chicago will look to determine its QB of the future as early as possible in 2021.
Should Fields get the start over Dalton in Week 1?
