What a scene it was at halftime when the NBA honored its 75th-anniversary team at halftime of the 2022 All-Star game. Some of the giants who helped build the game into the sport we know and love today received their well-deserved flowers in front of the Cleveland crowd. Including former Celtics Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.
However, there appears to be no love lost between the Boston Three Party. As Pierce and Garnett stood together during the ceremony, there was no acknowledgement of the sharpshooting guard when Allen was introduced.
KG has been very open in past years about his relationship (or lack thereof) with Allen since Ray decided to leave Boston for the rival Heat back in the summer of 2012.
You just knew NBA Twitter would have something to say about this one.
"Lamest team of all time," one user said.
"The Celtics winning this championship is the worst thing to happen in sports," another added.
"Bron dapping Ray up right next to him makes this even funnier lol but let it go KG ... !!!!" laughed another fan.
"It’s been decades lol….."
"Both parties gotta let this go."
"... he still wanna hit him so bad Lmaoo," another user cried laughing.
"Ray has really had KG like this for the past decade," replied one fan.
"KG and Pierce hate bro," another commented with a dead face emoji.
You hate to see these greats not mending the fence after all these years. Especially when they were all so integral to getting each other a ring back in 2007.
