Lefty Phil Mickelson appears to be preparing for his eventual comeback.

A new video of Mickelson out on the golf course is going viral today. It's not much, but it shows the lefty veteran showing some good speed off the tee.

It looks like he's been practicing at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.

"Rumors of Phil Mickelson’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. He had plenty of speed yesterday at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club," Fire Pit Collective said.

Mickelson, 51, has signed up for two major tournaments later this year. However, he's still unsure when he'll return.

Steve Loy released the following statement on Mickelson's behalf:

Our client Phil Mickelson is officially registered to play in the PGA Championship as well as the U.S. Open. We have also filed a request on his behalf for a release to play in the first LIV Gold Invitational in London, June 9 – 11. This request complies with the deadline of April 25 set forth by the PGA Tour to compete in a conflicting tour event. Phil currently has no concrete plans on when and where he will play. Any actions taken are in no way a reflection of a final decision made, but rather to keep all options open.

Mickelson's return could be right around the corner. He's currently signed up to compete in the LIV Golf event series in London and PGA Championship.
