Magic Johnson has taken to Twitter to release a new statement following his shocking decision to resign as the Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations.
Johnson, who starred for the Lakers as a player, announced on Tuesday night that he was stepping down from his position.
The former NBA star cited a couple of different reasons for his decision, though it seemed mostly like he was just tired of the stress of the job.
Johnson took to Twitter today to issue a new message:
"Thank you to Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, General Manager Rob Pelinka, Coach Luke Walton, the Lakers players & the entire basketball operations staff for the tremendous opportunity to serve as the President of Basketball Operations for the @Lakers. I will always be a Laker for life," he tweeted.
Johnson, 59, will likely remain a part of the Lakers' organization, though not in the official role he's had.
The Lakers, meanwhile, ended their season on Tuesday night.
