On Tuesday night, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Marcell Ozuna made the most-embarrassing play of the 2019 season to date.

With Enrique Hernandez on a 3-2 count, Ozuna got himself ready to make a play in left field.

Hernandez hit a bomb to the left field wall, where Ozuna seemed primed to make an incredible home run-robbing catch.

The left fielder scaled the wall, but there was one problem: Hernandez's hit was well-short of the wall.

That left Ozuna scrambling to get back onto the field to make a play on the ball. He ended up falling off the wall and failing to make the catch.

Check it out.

Ozuna is a Gold Glove-winning outfielder, but he has a flair for the dramatic.

Instead of trying to make the flashy play, Ozuna should have just positioned himself well to make the catch.

While the play wasn't smart, the Dodgers failed to take advantage of the mistake.

After eight innings of play, the Cardinals lead the Dodgers 4-0.
