Veteran NFL wide receiver Michael Crabtree is reportedly close to a deal with a new franchise ahead of the 2019 season.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Arizona Cardinals are closing in on a deal with Crabtree.

The 31-year-old wideout was linked to Arizona earlier this summer, though a deal didn't happen.

"He visited a few weeks ago, didn’t agree to terms, but it is almost there this time. Some savvy help in the passing game," Rapoport tweeted.

Crabtree has 633 career receptions for 7,477 yards and 55 touchdowns.

The former Texas Tech star spent the 2018 season with the Baltimore Ravens. He was with Oakland from 2015-17 and San Francisco from 2009-12.

Arizona is set to open its regular season on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 8. The Cardinals are playing the Lions at 4:25 p.m. E.T.
