Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has announced Ezekiel Elliott's status for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The star running back is expected to take the field for the first time since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain in Week 7.

DeMarcus Lawrence and Anthony Barr are also expected to play against the Vikings.

With a bye in Week 9, Elliott only missed two games with this injury. Backup running back Tony Pollard stepped up as the Cowboys' lead back in each of these games, rushing for more than 100 yards per contest and collecting four total touchdowns.

Given this excellent production from Pollard, the Cowboys can ease Elliott back into a full workload without rushing things this weekend.

This Cowboys-Vikings matchup is one of the best games of Week 11. Minnesota is red hot with an 8-1 record coming off a win over the Buffalo Bills. 6-3 Dallas is looking to bounce back after a disappointing overtime loss to the Packers this past weekend.

Sunday's game will kickoff at 4:25 p.m. ET in Minnesota.
