The NBA free agency period opens in just a few days and rumors are flying regarding the top free agents on the market.

Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard are the top free agents, but there is another star point guard in the mix as well.

Charlotte Hornets star Kemba Walker is coming off of a career year and is primed to break the bank. After landing on the All-NBA team, Walker is set for a max contract from the Hornets - or another team.

Charlotte can offer Walker a five-year, $221 million contract - though the team reportedly never considered such a deal.

According to a new report, Boston is now the favorite to land Kemba Walker.

New York Times reporter Marc Stein revealed the Celtics emerged as a "stealth" contender earlier this week. He then removed the "stealth" caveat, naming the Celtics as a legitimate contender to land the star point guard.

After losing Kyrie Irving in free agency, the Celtics could use the services of a star point guard - sorry Terry Rozier.

The Dallas Mavericks are also in the mix for Walker, along with the Lakers and New York Knicks.

Stay tuned for the latest NBA rumors before free agency kicks off on June 30.
