NBA free agency kicks off in a few days, and there could be one major surprise in store.

The Golden State Warriors are hoping to keep both Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, but it looks like Durant is set to become a member of a different team.

That's expected, but a new report suggests Thompson could leave as well.

Sam Amick of The Athletic reported the door is "open ever so slightly" for Thompson to leave the Warriors - with the Los Angeles Clippers the main threat to sign him on the open market.

Earlier this week, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Thompson would be open to hearing a pitch from the Clippers if Golden State doesn't offer him the max.

"That 5-year, $190 million max offer.. If it's not there for Klay Thompson on Sunday at 6:01PM Eastern... My information is that he would be very open to going to sit down with are the Clippers," Woj said.

Losing Thompson would be a major blow to the Warriors - and end the Splash Brothers' reign in Oakland.

Los Angeles has plenty of cap space to land two legit stars in the league. The Clippers are in the hunt for Kawhi Leonard and the addition of he and Thompson would make them contenders in the Western Conference.
