The more things change, the more they stay the same? After Monday's Game 5 loss to the undermanned Raptors, 76ers center Joel Embiid called on James Harden to be more aggressive; before saying that might be the "coach's job."
"I've been saying all season since he got here, he needs to be aggressive and he needs to be himself," Embiid told reporters. "That's not really my job, that's probably on coach to talk to him and tell him to take more shots."
Before adding that all the Sixers need to play better offensively.
The basketball world reacted to the All-NBA big man's comments on social media.
"Look you’re not going to hear a defense of Ben Simmons or James Harden but if you wanna be an MVP you can’t constantly be deflecting like this," one user said of Joel Embiid.
"Embiid is so clearly a locker room cancer," another user commented.
"This is literally Simmons 2.0???" another laughingly asked.
"He’s right," another fan replied.
"Harden’s been bad, terrible, washed," tweeted an NBA writer. "If he re-signs, he better not wonder what happened if he wakes up within a year with bus tire tracks on him."
"Embiid doin that thing again," laughed another hoops fan.
"Second time in a calendar year Embiid has thrown a teammate under the bus and taken zero responsibility LMAO."
"I need this flameout with everything in my soul," another said after Joel Embiid's comments.
James Harden took just 11 shots in the blowout loss.
