Nick Nurse has been great for much of the NBA’s 2019 postseason, but the Toronto Raptors head coach is facing some major criticism for a questionable decision at the end of Game 5.
The Raptors had the Warriors on the ropes late in the fourth quarter, leading by six points with the ball and under 3 minutes to play, when Nurse decided to call a timeout.
The Warriors responded to this questionable timeout by scoring 9 unanswered points to take the lead and, eventually, the win.
Nurse is now getting called out for his decision.
Nick Nurse went for a knockout play call by calling a timeout with the Raptors up six, and then the Warriors went on a 9-2 run to win it. Turning point.

Pretty sure that was a media timeout that Nurse doubled up with his own, probably to get his guys extra rest. https://t.co/uMBFXdmUSd

Nick Nurse with arguably the worst timeout call in NBA Finals history

I’m with everyone else on Twitter – Can’t wait to hear the timeout explanations from Nurse post-game. Why he took one on that heater and why he didn’t call his final TO before the inbound.

Nurse and the Raptors will now have a couple of days to think over the loss and get ready for Game 6.
The Raptors and the Warriors are set to tip off in Game 6 at Golden State on Thursday at 9 p.m. E.T.
It’ll be on ABC.
