Former NFL star running back O.J. Simpson managed to stay out of the headlines for nearly a year.

However, on the week of the 25th anniversary of his wife's murder, Simpson decided now was the right time for a comeback - in the news cycle that is.

The former Buffalo Bills running back remained off of social media for the majority of his life, but at 71 years old, Simpson made his debut on Twitter.

And boy, was it something.

Simpson posted a video with a message for his fans.

"Hey Twitter world this is your's truly. Now coming soon to Twitter you'll get to read all my thoughts and opinions about everything. Now there's a lot of fake O.J. accounts out there, so this one @TheRealOJ32 is the only official one. So, it should be a lot of fun. I got a little getting even to do. So God bless and take care," Simpson said in the video.

As you can imagine, the responses to his decision to enter the Twitter world were something else.

Feel free to read the comments under the post, but we won't be posting them on here.

It's quite a way for Simpson to get back into the headlines.
