Ohio State‘s football program has lost a commitment from one of the top recruits in the 2022 class.
Jaheim Singletary, the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2022 class per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, has officially de-committed from the Buckeyes.
The No. 5 cornerback in the ’22 class announced his decision on Twitter. He revealed his decommitment
“Decommitted Respect my decision,” he wrote on Twitter. “Recruitment 100% back open get at me.”

According to On3 recruiting expert Chad Simmons, a de-commitment possibility had been weighing on Singletary for most of the summer.

Singletary is a Jacksonville, Florida native. Many in the recruiting world believe he will end up at a school closer to home.
Miami, Georgia and Florida, among others, are being mentioned as possible destinations for the five-star prospect.

Ohio State still has one of the top classes in the country for 2022. In fact, the Buckeyes’ 22 class still ranks at No. 1 overall by 247Sports’ team rankings. Penn State, Alabama, Notre Dame and LSU round out the top five of the team rankings.
The loss of Singletary hurts the Buckeyes, though, and the five-star prospect will be a major addition to another school moving forward.
