Patrick Mahomes returned to action today following a multi-week absence with his knee injury. Unfortunately for the star quarterback, he wasn’t able to get a win in his first game back.
Kansas City fell to Tennessee, 35-32, when the Titans blocked the Chiefs’ game-tying field goal attempt as time expired.
The Chiefs, a preseason Super Bowl favorite, are now 6-4. That’s still very much in postseason contention, though not quite where the fan base expected the team to be heading into the middle of November.
Mahomes took to Twitter following the game to send a message to his team’s fan base.
#ChiefsKingdom we have to be better and we will be. Thank y’all for the support me and my brothers will grow from this!” he wrote.
Head up #ChiefsKingdom we have to be better and we will be. Thank y’all for the support me and my brothers will grow from this!

Kansas City is now a half game up on Oakland for first place in the AFC West division.
The Chiefs are set to play the Chargers in a Monday night game on Nov. 18. Kansas City then has a bye before hosting the Raiders in a critical divisional matchup.
