The Patriots Are Dealing With Several Illnesses Heading Into Tonight’s Game

Outside of Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, nothing has been capable of taking down the New England Patriots this year. Perhaps the flu will be able to do so today.

New England is set to take on Houston on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

The Patriots have been dealing with major illnesses this week. There were 10 players on the injury report due to sickness.

New England’s sick players should be good to go tonight, but it’s worth monitoring.

Seven #Patriots players, all starters, were listed as questionable with illnesses, from flu to cold to anything in between. While things seem to be trending in the right direction & most or all should play, this was as challenging a week as one can imagine in NE. Worth watching.

ESPN.com had more details:

Backup tight end Ryan Izzo is the only player the club has officially ruled out because of illness, which means several key starters — a group including cornerback Stephon Gilmore, left tackle Isaiah Wynn and linebackers Dont’a Hightower, Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy — have improved enough on Saturday that they still have a chance to play. As the club departed for Houston on Saturday afternoon, the Patriots didn’t downgrade any of the nine players who were listed as questionable due to illness.

The Patriots are coming off a close win over the Cowboys last Sunday.

New England and Houston are set to kick off at 8:20 p.m. E.T.

The game will be on NBC.
