Free agency has taken over the headlines for the NBA so far this offseason, but there's another important piece of the NBA being left out of the print.
That will come back to the forefront of fans' eyes and the media on Friday night.
The NBA's Summer League kicked off in late June and has pitted the NBA's young stars against one another.
Perhaps the biggest star since LeBron James makes his debut tonight.
New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson takes the floor for the first time as an NBA player tonight against his former teammate, R.J. Barrett and the New York Knicks.
Three former Duke players were called in the top-10 of the NBA draft earlier this offseason.
New Orleans landed Zion with the No. 1 pick, followed quickly by Barrett at No. 3 to the Knicks and then fellow freshman star Cam Reddish went off the board at No. 10 to the Atlanta Hawks.
Williamson catapulted himself into the top pick of the draft after a tremendous freshman campaign. Before the season, Barrett was seen as the presumptive No. 1 pick.
Now they'll go head-to-head in the debuts on Friday night.
The action tips off at 9:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN.
