Penn State was looking to get back on track Saturday after tough losses to Indiana and Ohio State to start the season. Instead, the Nittany Lions are getting blown out by Maryland. It’s currently 35-7 in the third quarter.
Terrapins quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa is going off. Midway through the third quarter, he’s 14-of-19 for 246 yards with three touchdowns. Penn State signal-caller Sean Clifford, on the other hand, has played very poorly. He’s just 10-of-28 for 137 yards with a touchdown. He’s had accuracy problems all day.
If Penn State loses, it’ll fall to 0-3 on the season. The Nittany Lions were ranked in the top 10 before their season started.
It’s the kind of game that seems to be alarming former Penn State players. Former star Michael Robinson, who played eight seasons in the NFL, took to Twitter to express his concern.
What the FOOTBALL is going on with my @PennStateFball Nittany Lions?!?

The opening game loss to Indiana looks better every day, as the Hoosiers seem legit, and a loss to Ohio State is never a surprise. But getting blown out by Maryland is another story. Nittany Lions fans and alums have a right to be worried.
There’s still time in the contest, but the Nittany Lions are going to need to mount a huge comeback soon.
