Legendary NFL quarterback Peyton Manning faced a lot of great defensive players over the course of his professional career.
One stands out, though.
According to the Hall of Fame quarterback, linebacker Ray Lewis is the best player he ever went up against.
“When he retired, it was like the greatest day of my life," Manning said at an event earlier this month.
Lewis, one of the best defensive players in the history of the National Football League, gave Manning fits during some classic Colts vs. Ravens games.
Both players have since retired, with them each going down among the best at their position.
