Peyton Manning had a clever comment about Tom Brady while he was discussing the career of Ray Lewis.

He was discussing the best player he played against on defense (Ray Lewis) and made a playful jab at Brady while discussing him.

"When he (Lewis) retired, it was like the greatest day of my life," Manning said. "I sent flowers to his press conference and said don't come back like Brady, you know?"

Brady, of course, did make his return to the NFL earlier this month. He was retired for six weeks following the 2021 season before deciding to come back for a 23rd season.

That 23rd season will be spent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as he looks to win his eighth Super Bowl.

The NFC looks to be wide open again this year and Brady must've recognized that while he was away from the game.

Brady was gunning for his eighth Lombardi this past season but fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round.

We'll have to see if he can keep playing at a high level even though he's in his mid-40s.
