Florida State is set to take on Vermont in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it looks like the Seminoles are going to be a bit shorthanded. Senior forward Phil Cofer does not appear to be playing in Thursday's contest due to a foot injury.

Cofer, who was wearing a protective boot yesterday ahead of the contest, is in street clothes just minutes before his team's game. Head coach Leonard Hamilton told reporters that the Seminoles are hopeful he can return later in the tournament.

Cofer averages 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Florida State is a deep team, but this still isn't optimal.

Florida State, a 4-seed in this year's NCAA Tournament, is set to take on 13-seed Vermont. The two teams are set to tip off at 2:00 PM ET.

The Seminoles finished the season with a 27-7 record and a 13-5 record in the ACC. They lost to Duke in the ACC title game last week.

Cofer's loss is significant, but Florida State has eight players who average over five points per game. We'll see how much it affects their game plan.

The game will be broadcast on TBS.
