Alex Morgan is one of the greatest players in United States soccer history. The United States women’s national team star celebrated a cool personal milestone this weekend.
The U.S. star made her first professional appearance since giving birth to her first child.
Morgan, 31, made her Tottenham debut in the Women’s Super League. She was part of a 1-1 tie against Reading on Saturday. Morgan came on as a substitute 69 minutes into the contest.
“It just feels good to get back on the field for the first time in over a year so happy about that,” Morgan said after today’s game. “Obviously not too happy about the result but I just had to start to get some minutes and build from there.
“I felt like there was definitely a lot more sprints than in training. I’ll get used to it pretty quickly.
“I’m looking forward to getting into more of the game to settle into it more.
“I think my fitness is getting back there. It’s just going to take some time. I’m going to have to get game time to get match fit.”
Morgan posted about her debut on Instagram, too.
“Today was a milestone for me personally(yes and for our country!!!). So happy to be back on the field doing what I love,” she tweeted.
Congrats, Alex.
