On Thursday afternoon, Bryce Harper made his debut for the Philadelphia Phillies. After signing the richest deal in MLB history - at the time - Harper made his first appearance in the pinstripes.
He made his presence felt when he walked into the stadium. Harper endeared himself to Philadelphia fans everywhere when he walked in with a t-shirt sporting the Phillie Phanatic and the Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty.
But he wasn't done there.
The new Philadelphia star also sported some wacky cleats.
To further his Philadelphia roots, Harper rocked all-green cleats in support of the Philly Phanatic.
Check them out.
Harper, 26, had spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Washington Nationals. However, he couldn't find it in his heart to leave the NL East - choosing to sign with the rival Phillies.
The All-Star outfielder inked a 13-year, $330 million contract with the Phillies in free agency at the beginning of March. He set the MLB record for a few weeks until Mike Trout signed a massive $430 million deal over 12 years to remain with the Los Angeles Angels.
In his first at-bat with the new team, Harper grounded out to first.
Philadelphia leads Atlanta 1-0 at the end of the first inning.
