Nearly everyone in the building is confident that a Lamar Jackson contract extension will happen; including Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti.

Speaking to a small group of Baltimore-area reporters Tuesday, Bisciotti made it clear that the team has every interest in locking him up long-term, while respecting Lamar's desire to wait.

Saying, “We’ll pay him when he’s ready," via The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

Fans reacted to Bisciotti's comments on social media. "All I needed to hear," tweeted one Ravens fan. "Sleeping well."

"A delightful sentence to calm the masses," said another.

"Raven 4 life," commented another, tagging Lamar Jackson.

"'We’ll pay him when he’s ready' LOL this just blew my mind," commented SportsCenter anchor Max McGee.

"Not we'll negotiate when he's ready," noted another Baltimore fan. "We'll PAY him when he's ready. That's the clearest sign we'll ever get the Ravens plan to keep Lamar here for a long long time."

"Lamar is about to get that bag and I'm more than happy for him."

"For all of those 'What’s the hold up with Lamar’s contract?' people, here’s your answer," said another Ravens fan.

Lamar Jackson is coming off a bit of a down year after running away with MVP honors two seasons prior. Injuries and illness really hurt the electric QB in 2021; and really the Ravens roster as a whole.

The two-time Pro Bowler will look to bounce back in a big way come 2022.
