The Florida State Seminoles are reportedly in good position to land five-star Georgia transfer Amarius Mims ahead of the 2022 season.

Mims, the No. 3 offensive tackle recruit in the 2020 class, is the nation's top available transfer according to 247Sports.

Mims is currently on a multi-day visit with the Florida State football program. On Wednesday night, 247Sports recruiting insider Bud Elliott named the Seminoles as his official prediction to land the highly-touted transfer prospect.

Elliott says Florida State's initial recruiting efforts back in 2020 will play a role in Mims' final decision.

"They say there is no prize for second place in recruiting, but is that really so in the transfer portal era? FSU did a great job recruiting Mims the first time, and though he chose Georgia, that relationship was rekindled once Mims hit the transfer portal," Elliott told 247Sports. "His relationship with (FSU assistant) Alex Atkins is the key here, as well as the essentially guaranteed playing time."

Mims was set to begin his second season with the reigning National Champions before announcing his entrance into the transfer portal last week. He saw action in eight games as a reserve offensive lineman for the Bulldogs this past season.

In Tallahassee, Mims would join the program as an immediate starter.
