Alabama cornerback Eli Ricks has still not been released from a Mississippi jail.

Ricks is in prison awaiting a court appearance and a bail amount after he was arrested on Sunday afternoon. He was charged with speeding, driving without insurance and misdemeanor, and first offense marijuana possession, per Glenn Guilbeau of OutKick.

Ricks' court appearance is expected to be during the afternoon on Monday.

He's set to play for Alabama in 2022, though this situation could complicate that. He transferred to Alabama in December after two lackluster seasons at LSU.

Ricks finished this past season with 11 total tackles (nine solo), one interception, and one pass defended. In 2020, he had 20 total tackles (11 solo), four interceptions, and five passes defended.

Before Ricks originally committed to LSU, he was a five-star recruit in the class of 2020. He was the second-ranked player in his home state (California) and the No. 14 overall recruit, per 247Sports Composite.
