Earlier this summer, NBA star Jimmy Butler turned down a contract extension to stay with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Rumors of Butler's growing disdain for the organization became louder after the news broke.
Now, the Wolves star has reportedly requested a trade. According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, Butler met with head coach Tom Thibodeau earlier this week to talk about their differences.
It looks like the two couldn't come to an agreement and now Butler wants out. Butler was reportedly unhappy with the commitment level from Andrew Wiggins and Karl Anthony-Towns during the 2017-18 season.
Here's the report from Shams.
The former Marquette star is in line to become a free agent following the 2018-19 season. However, if Shams' report is accurate, it looks like he'll be happy to sign an extension with his new team to help facilitate a trade.
Butler has reportedly given the Wolves a list of teams he wants to be traded to.
