Nebraska football's defensive depth has reportedly taken a hit this evening, as a former four-star recruit is no longer on the team.

Multiple reports have confirmed that Breon Dixon, a four-star transfer from Ole Miss, is no longer with the Huskers.

Sean Callahan first reported the news.

"I've confirmed that linebacker Breon Dixon will not be a part of the Nebraska football team going forward," he tweeted.

Dixon, a sophomore linebacker, came to Nebraska in January 2018. He played in four games for the Huskers this past season.

The 2018 season will count as a redshirt year for Dixon, since he only played in four games.

The specific reasoning for Dixon's departure is unclear at this point.
