Few things seemed like more of a lock in NBA free agency than Ricky Rubio signing with the Indiana Pacers, who are in serious need of a point guard.
That's not what's happened, though.
Rubio has shockingly agreed to a huge deal with the Phoenix Suns.
The Athletic's Shams Charania broke the news.
"Free agent Ricky Rubio has agreed three-year, $51 million deal with the Phoenix Suns, league sources tell The Athletic," he reports.
Rubio had strongly been linked to the Indiana Pacers, who have lost Darren Collison to retirement and won't be getting Victor Oladipo back until December or January.
The Spanish point guard is coming off a 2018-19 season in which he averaged 12.7 points, 6.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds a game.
