A wild scene unfolded at a high school track meet in Florida this past weekend. Though it sounds too absurd to believe, an athlete sucker-punched a runner in the head during the race.

While at the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational in Kissimmee this Saturday, an athlete wearing a black uniform legitimately swung at a runner in white and red. The runner was leading the pack before he was knocked to the floor.

One of the spectators at this event managed to capture this moment on video. It has over 450,000 views in less than 24 hours.

Those in attendance were clearly shocked by what they witnessed at the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational.

Here's the video of the punch being thrown:

According to TMZ Sports, the athlete in the black uniform got in the way of the runner on the track. As a result, the runner pushed the athlete out of the way.

Then, the athlete decided to retaliate by striking the runner in the head on the following lap.

Law enforcement was notified of this incident.
