This past April, following their decision to draft Kyler Murray No. 1 overall, the Arizona Cardinals traded quarterback Josh Rosen to the Miami Dolphins for two draft picks. Rosen is currently competing for the starting job against Ryan Fitzpatrick, but it doesn’t appear to be going well.
There were rumblings earlier in the week that Rosen looked outclassed against Fitzpatrick, and Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter dropped a quote that backs that up.
Schefter says Dolphins head coach Brian Flores told him today that it’s “pretty clear” that Fitzpatrick is leading the way in the quarterback competition.
If Rosen fails to win the starting job in Miami, his career is in serious peril.
Dolphins' HC Brian Flores today, on Miami's QB competition between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen: "It's pretty clear to me that Ryan Fitzpatrick is leading the way."

Fitzpatrick, an NFL journeyman, has been in the league since 2005. He’s played for the St. Louis Rams, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Buffalo Bills, the Tennessee Titans, the Houston Texans, the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s been around the block, but he hasn’t stuck anywhere he’s landed.
Rosen, in his one year in Arizona, threw for 2,278 yards and 11 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. He was expected to take a leap this year before the Cardinals decided to in another direction.
This will be interesting to monitor moving forward – from a fantasy perspective as well. We’ll keep you updated.
