It seemed like Nebraska made a home-run hire when it landed Scott Frost in 2017. The first two seasons in Lincoln haven't lived up to expectations though, as he's now facing the most pivotal season of his career.

Frost owns a 9-15 record as the head coach of the Cornhuskers. He appeared on his way to leading the program to a bowl game this past season, but they imploded down the stretch.

The pressure is on for Frost this season. Another losing season won't sit well with the athletic department or the fan base. It also wouldn't be a great look for the team when it comes to recruiting new players.

Bud Elliott of 247Sports listed nine coaches that are facing pivotal seasons in 2020. As you'd expect, Frost is one of those coaches that needs to show a ton of improvement in the fall.

Here's what Bud Elliott had to say about Frost, via 247Sports:

The Cornhuskers have finished fifth in the Big Ten West division both seasons. The Nebraska administration has tremendous patience for Frost, having just extended his contract by two seasons. While Frost is likely safe as long as Nebraska manages to get back to a bowl, there could be a lack of momentum which could stifle recruiting and begin to erode support.

This list from 247Sports also includes Chip Kelly, Clay Helton, Jimbo Fisher, Tom Herman and other notable coaches.

Nebraska's schedule won't be too kind this fall. Frost will have to lead the team past Ohio State, Penn State and the Big Ten West.

All eyes in Lincoln will be on Frost as he tries to turn things around for his alma mater.
