Sean Miller, the former University of Arizona men's head basketball coach, is returning to where he made a name for himself.

Xavier announced on Saturday that it's hired Sean Miller to be the program's next men's basketball coach. It's a surprising reunion.

Miller coach at Xavier from 2004 to 2009. The Musketeers went 120-47 during that span, including four trips to the NCAA Tournament. Xavier went to the Elite Eight in 2008 and Sweet 16 in 2009.

The 53-year-old is returning to the school to coach the Musketeers.

Saturday's Sean Miller news has college basketball fans talking: "Sean Miller was 120-47 in five years at Xavier, including four trips to the NCAA Tournament as well as trips to the Elite Eight and Sweet 16. That was in the Atlantic 10. A new dawn for the Musketeers in the Big East," Jon Rothstein tweeted.

"Xavier is expected to bring back Sean Miller as its next head coach, sources told ESPN. Miller was a top target for Xavier and South Carolina, but he’s returning to the Musketeers, where he spent eight seasons in the early 2000s," said Jeff Borzello.

"BREAKING: Sean Miller has agreed to a deal to return to Xavier, source told @Stadium. The ex-Arizona coach spent 5 season as the head coach of Musketeers from 2004-09 and went to four NCAA tourneys — including an Elite Eight in 2008. Miller chose Xavier over South Carolina," Jeff Goodman tweeted.

Can Sean Miller lead Xavier back to glory?

Expectations will be high within the Musketeers' program next season.
