After taking Saint Peter's on a wild Cinderella ride, Shaheen Holloway is going back home. On Wednesday, the Seton Hall alum was announced as the program's next men's basketball coach.
"Holloway Home!" the Pirates official handle tweeted. "Welcome back to South Orange, [Shaheen Holloway]!"
College hoops fans reacted to the news of Holloway's hiring on Twitter.
"And there it is!" one account said.
"He’s back," a Big East comm assistant replied. "A slam dunk hire in South Orange."
"Welcome home Coach!" the team's managers tweeted at Shaheen Holloway.
"We got him," a Seton Hall fan tweeted.
"I got happy tears man I can’t lie."
"Exciting news!" said broadcaster Kim Adams.
"The Big East is really going to have quite the cast of coaches next season," commented another broadcaster. Adding, "Great hire for Seton Hall."
Seton Hall alum and former NBA player Isaiah Whitehead also reacted to the Shaheen Holloway hiring.
"Welcome Home [Shaheen Holloway]! Excited to get to work with you," tweeted Seton Hall softball coach Angie Churchill.
"Welcome home coach," added another. "Let’s go Pirates."
"As expected since Kevin Willard left for Maryland, Seton Hall officially announces the hiring of Shaheen Holloway," tweeted ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
