The 2018 World Cup is underway in Russia. Before the action kicked off, there were of course the opening ceremonies.
British singer Robbie Williams was one of the performers during the opening festivities. If you’re unfamiliar with him, he has had a bunch of No. 1 hits in the UK, including “Radio,” “Rock DJ” and “Millennium.”
Williams’ performance was nondescript until the camera cut to him at one point and he decided to flip the middle finger.

When it's the first day of the World Cup but the only match all day is Russia – Saudi Arabia. Funniest part was Robbie Williams not really committing to the defiant gesture; he's still dancing so he looks more like a drunk football hooligan than a political renegade. #worldcup pic.twitter.com/Pnuzl8l8dz

This was…weird to say the least.
We’re not sure why Williams decided to do that, but he was certainly clear about it.
Russia and Saudi Arabia are playing in the first game of the 2018 World Cup on FOX.
