LeBron James is under fire a bit this week after his recent actions at his son’s AAU game. In addition to dunking while participating in the team’s layup line, James had a ridiculous celebration to his son’s alley-oop dunk that included him running onto the floor and losing a shoe.
While some have praised him for being involved in his son’s life, others have criticized him for hogging the spotlight. Jason Whitlock of FOX Sports wasn’t a fan. Neither is Skip Bayless.
Bayless is a known LeBron hater, so this has to be taken with a grain of salt. But he did not hold back.
Bayless believes that James is “acting out” because Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers have stolen the spotlight from him in Los Angeles.
Here’s a portion of what he had to say. Keep in mind Bayless refers to Leonard as “No. 2” because he still isn’t over the way he left the Spurs – Bayless’ favorite team.
“I want everybody to understand that LeBron has become so attention-starved because there’s a new sheriff in town in Los Angeles and his name is No. 2. Several of the NBA insiders reported that LeBron was convinced that they were going to get No. 2 on the Lakers.
…and now all the attention in Los Angeles, California is focused on the Clippers.
…so all of a sudden LeBron is thinking “I’ve got to show off. I’ve got to post Taco Tuesday videos.” That’s all you got LeBron is Taco Tuesday? But again, that’s what you have to do? Because that’s all you can do for attention right now because you are at an attention-deficit.”

The Clippers will indeed be the favorites to win the NBA title next year, but until we see the two teams battle on the court, we won’t know which one is better. James has all the motivation in the world for it to be the Lakers.
