Mike Greenberg has had a lot of big jobs at ESPN. He is reportedly in line for another one, too.
According to a report from the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand, Greenberg is a candidate to host the NBA Finals for ESPN.
ESPN is in need of a new host for The Finals. Rachel Nichols is no longer appearing on ESPN air and Maria Taylor left for NBC. This leaves ESPN with a decision to make for a new host.
Greenberg is reportedly among those in consideration.

According to the report, Greenberg is one of several names being mentioned for the job. Elle Duncan and Cassidy Hubbarth, among others, are also in consideration.
While there are many fans of Greenberg, most don’t want to see him getting another primetime job at ESPN.

“I’m starting to think that this has been an inside job at ESPN for like the last 15 years,” one fan tweeted.
“Would be a horrible decision by ESPN. No real sports fan values his opinion on the NBA and that includes hardcore hoop heads and casuals. Keep him on in the early morning; the less Greeny the better,” another fan added.
“Why are they so in love with him? He’s at Costas levels of later career now, no bueno,” another fan suggested.
Greenberg has his fair share of critics, but he’s also very good at his job. However, it would probably be smart for ESPN to go in another direction.
