Sports World Pays Tribute To The Rock On Monday

The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment is the center of attention on Monday morning with the wider sports and entertainment world paying tribute to him.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is celebrating his birthday today. The former WWE superstar turned Hollywood A-lister has reached the golden age of 50.

Naturally, some of the biggest names in the world are sharing in the celebration with The Rock. Everyone from WWE to Warner Brothers to celebrities have taken to Twitter and social media to wish him a Happy Birthday.

Thus far it looks like The Rock has not been on Twitter much to acknowledge all of the birthday wishes. His only action this morning has been to reply to a birthday tweet from former NFL pass rusher Shawne Merriman:

The career arc of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is unlike anything in the history of sports or entertainment. He was a national championship winner at the University of Miami in the early-1990s, but failed a tryout in the Canadian Football League before going into pro wrestling.

We all know what happened from there: The Rock goes to WWE (then WWF), quickly becomes one of the company's most iconic figures, parlays his success there into success in movies, and has since become one of Hollywood's most bankable stars.

There may never be another person like The Rock.

We're fortunate enough to have at least one though.
