The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the hunt for a Honey Badger, Tyrann Mathieu confirmed Wednesday.

Speaking on "The Jordy Culotta Show," the All-Pro safety talked about his enjoyment of the free agent courting process; and confirmed he's had contact with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

Telling Culotta, "It’s still cool talking to all coaches, the different coaches...Mike Tomlin calling your phone."

The football world reacted to Mathieu's comments on social media. "It's happening," a T.J. Watt fan tweeted.

"Well then...the plot thickens," another user commented.

"But I thought that Tyrann to the Steelers was fake news because of [Kevin] Colbert's first contract comments," another said.

"Here’s my shocked face," a Steelers podcaster replied with the sunglasses emoji.

"Big news!" another Steelers account tweeted. "The Badger with the Mink is a real possibility!"

Tyrann Mathieu has still yet to sign with anyone after the Kansas City Chiefs chose to go in a different direction. Adding the all-decade safety to the Steelers' defensive backfield would be a nice boost to an already stout unit.
