Clearly believing their fourth-year QB deserved a big pay day, the Bills organization is likely thrilled to have their franchise guy locked in for the foreseeable future.
Allen’s superstar partner and favorite wide receiver target is happy about the news as well.
In response to news of Allen’s extension, Buffalo wideout Stefon Diggs shared a GIF of Terrell Owens’ famous “that’s my quarterback” speech.
“Baller,” Diggs wrote.

Allen’s MVP-contending season in 2020 didn’t just help the Bills to their best campaign in years — it also brought Diggs’ career to new heights. Connecting with Allen on a league-high 127 receptions, Diggs led the NFL with 1,535 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on the year. Behind that performance, the sixth-year WR earned his first ever Pro-Bowl and All-Pro honors.
After leading the Bills to a 13-3 regular-season record, Allen and Diggs brought their team all the way to an AFC Championship matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. While they ultimately fell 38-24 and failed to make the Super Bowl, the Buffalo franchise will no doubt expect more postseason success in years to come — especially with this QB/WR duo on the roster.
Earlier this offseason, the Bills restructured Diggs’ contract — converting nearly all of the base salary he was set to earn in 2021 into signing bonuses. In addition to clearing up nearly $8 million in cap space for Buffalo, this restructure also makes it more likely that Diggs signs an extension with the team prior to the 2022 season.
