Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard is arguably the biggest free agent on the market this summer after the injury to Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant.
Both are top-three players in the league today, but only Leonard enters the 2019-20 season with a clean bill of health.
Reports from earlier in the off-season suggested there is a two-team race for Leonard's services. The Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers were reportedly the two front-runners for Kawhi.
However, a recent report from Stephen A. Smith suggests there's another team in the mix.
On Friday morning's Get Up, Stephen A. "received word that [Kawhi Leonard] is seriously considering the Los Angeles Lakers."
The Lakers positioned themselves to land another top free agent by trading three players and a draft pick to the Washington Wizards.
With the move, the Lakers have a max slot, which the team is reportedly using to focus on Kawhi Leonard and former Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving.
A trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard would be the odds-on favorite to take home the title this season.
However, Leonard is expected to meet with several teams, including the Lakers, Clippers and Raptors.
Stay tuned for the latest.
