When the time came for the Pittsburgh Steelers to announce their No. 20 overall pick, the team had every quarterback option left at their disposal.
Ultimately, Mike Tomlin and the Steelers organization elected to pick up Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett -- taking him over Liberty's highly-touted QB prospect Malik Willis.
Some Steeler fans are thrilled that they were able to grab Pickett at No. 20. Others wish the team elected to go with the upside of Willis.
Noted Steelers fan Stephen A. Smith is "concerned" about the pick.
"Damnit! I don’t know how to feel about the @steelers selecting Pickett. I mean, I know he can play. But I kept hearing about this kid, Willis. So did they take Pickett because he’s better or because he’s home-grown? Damnit, I’m concerned. I’m concerned!!!" he wrote on Twitter.
Pickett and Willis were widely considered the top-two quarterback options in this year's pool. Either way you look at it, the Steelers got some excellent value out of their No. 20 pick.
Willis, who many thought could go early in the first-round, never came off the board during last night's selection process. He'll no doubt hear his name called during tonight's second round though.
For now, Steelers fans will have to play the waiting game to see how each of these quarterbacks' NFL careers play out.
