A potential suitor is reportedly emerging for free agent defensive back Tyrann Mathieu.

The prominent defensive back is arguably the most-notable free agent remaining in 2022. Mathieu, who previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs, could be heading to New Orleans.

The Saints are reportedly expected to re-engage on Mathieu following the NFL Draft.

"After failing to land a safety during the draft, the Saints now are expected to re-visit their talks with free-agent Pro-Bowl safety Tyrann Mathieu and make an aggressive push to try to add him to their roster, per sources. Mathieu was born and raised in New Orleans," ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports.

Saints fans are excited. "It’s amazing this dude still hasn’t signed," one fan tweeted. "if the perfect off season exists we sign this man," another fan tweeted. "Mickey Loomis dropped hints of this yesterday," another fan wrote.

It would be fun to see Mathieu back in New Orleans.
