With Drew Brees publicly announcing his decision to return to the Saints for at least one more season, Teddy Bridgewater's future in New Orleans has basically been decided.

The soon-to-be free agent quarterback will not be back in 2020. Bridgewater, 27, is now expected to sign elsewhere.

Bleacher Report NFL insider Mike Freeman reported this weekend that Bridgewater has been constantly linked to one team in particular. Bridgewater could be heading to an AFC West team in free agency.

Bridgewater has reportedly been "attached" to a lot of Los Angeles Chargers free agency discussions. The quarterback could be an ideal fit for Los Angeles.

The Chargers have decided to move on from longtime quarterback Philip Rivers ahead of free agency. Rivers and his family have relocated to Florida. The former N.C. State quarterback could be a fit in Tampa Bay.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, has also been linked heavily to Tom Brady. The New England Patriots quarterback is expected to seriously consider playing for a new team in 2020. Perhaps that team will be the Chargers.

But Bridgewater appears to be a serious option for the Chargers, too. The 27-year-old quarterback is coming off an impressive 2019 season backing up Drew Brees.
