It's an Ohio State reunion party at Butler. Thad Matta, the Buckeyes' former head coach, is hiring two former OSU stars to his staff.

Matta is reportedly bringing on Greg Oden and Jon Diebler at Butler. It's currently unclear what role each will have on his staff.

Oden has some experience in the coaching game. He spent the 2021-22 season as a graduate assistant at Ohio State.

Diebler, meanwhile, just retired from playing in European leagues.

This is a strong move by Matta, and one Ohio State fans are loving. Take a look at what the college basketball world is saying about the latest Butler basketball news:

Two Buckeye basketball greats from the Thad Matta era at Ohio State will be joining his staff at Butler.

"Now those are names I have not heard in a long time."

"I had wondered if Oden would be headed to Butler. Two #Buckeyes greats now joining their former coach."

"Speechless. Matta hiring Greg Oden and Jon Diebler as assistant coaches. Both former players under Matta and will be huge in recruiting. Exciting time to be a #Butler fan"

"Thad Matta bringing the band back together. … he’ll be fine as long as he doesn’t hire @clubtrillion"

Butler is going to be a strong recruiting force in the years to come.
