The Alabama Football Twitter Account Has Been Suspended

A screenshot of a Twitter suspension.

Alabama football has had its Twitter account suspended for an unknown reason earlier today. It remains suspended, though no reason has been given.

A program known for its intense discipline, did the Crimson Tide run afoul of social media policies? Twitter has been cracking down in recent weeks, attempting to get rid of fake accounts.

However that likely isn't the issue here.

This is the second time this year that the Alabama football account has been suspended. In April, Alabama beat writer Aaron Suttles gave a potential reasoning for the suspension the first time around.

Perhaps it holds true for this suspension as well.

Nick Saban probably isn't happy with this, even if you know he doesn't care much about social media. He probably just doesn't want to be bothered.

This isn't the first time college football Twitter accounts have run afoul. National Signing Day in February usually brings with it suspensions for multiple football programs across the country.

Our guess? The account will be back by the morning, if not sooner.
